This project is an investigation of manufacturing one-off furniture pieces at scale by creating an automated system for manufacturing that minimizes waste in material, time, and money.
reHOC is a customizable shelving system for the home that works to fit the needs of each individual customer.
This design will transform existing solutions such as peg boards and modular shelving by creating a unique experience for the customer and a visually appealing product.
More importantly, this will transform the current furniture manufacturing landscape by providing alternatives to traditional manufacturing methods that will allow for lean manufacturing of bespoke products.

Through a simple online configurator, customers can easily design their bespoke unit.
Once the order is placed an automated process creates a set of manufacturing drawings to be sent to a partnered manufacturer closest to the customer.
Through a similar automated process a set of assembly instructions is created for the customer
reHOC fits anywhere.
By building off of a modular construction and manufacturing system, reHOC shelves can be manufactured anywhere in the world for any purpose. reHOC shelving can be used as kitchen storage, a media console, room dividers, office desks, wardrobe organization or anything else you can dream of. Make it as simple or crazy as you want!
