Watchie-Talkie
University Project
2021
The main reason parents give their children cell phones is to stay in contact with them throughout the day. Watchie-Talkie is a communication device for children and their parents that does not disturb the child's development.
31.1% of children receive their first cell phone between ages 5-10 (SellCell), and by age 11 more than half have one (Common Sense Census). During this formative period when children are still physically and mentally growing, a smartphone can have detrimental effects on the child's development.
One button. No screen.
Watchie-Talkie is incredibly simple and easy to use. The device uses verbal messages(similar to voice messages on iOS), using only 1 button.
